Hindustani Vocal — Gwalior Gharana
“Krishna Kuldeep Pandey stepped onto the path of Hindustani classical music in 2014 and has learned under Pandit Hrishikesh Gangurde since 2019. For him music is a sacred sadhana and an act of worship — a space where singing ragas helps him discover his inner self and feel the presence of the Divine.”
Hailing from a non-musical family background, Krishan Kuldeep Pandey was born on April 11, 1994, in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, with ancestral roots in Dadra village, Mehdawal (Sant Kabir Nagar). Raised in a disciplined household shaped by his father's service in the Uttar Pradesh Police department, he completed his schooling in Maharajganj and intermediate studies in Lucknow. Driven by an innate passion for classical music, he moved to Chandigarh in April 2013 immediately after completing his intermediate schooling. Under the initial tutelage of Ustad Rajan Bali, he trained for two years, learning swara fundamentals and ragas such as Yaman, Bilawal, and Asavari. In May 2015, being the only son and needed at home due to family responsibilities, he returned to Lucknow. Continuing his musical education locally, he enrolled in a regular diploma course at Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, completing his four-year diploma followed by his graduation by 2022.
A decisive turning point arrived in 2019 during the Bhatkhande Jayanti celebrations at the Sangeet Natak Akademi, where he discovered Pandit Hrishikesh Gangurde and resolved to learn under his guidance. After approaching him, his formal talim began. When his guru relocated to Pune in 2020, Krishan wished to accompany him, but adhering to his guru's counsel to first finish his studies in Lucknow, he completed his degree at Bhatkhande before moving to Pune in August 2022. There, he pursued his Master's degree at Bharati Vidyapeeth while receiving intensive, traditional talim under Pandit Hrishikesh Gangurde for three years, along with invaluable mentorship from revered maestros such as Dr. Vikas Kashalkar. In August 2025, he returned to Lucknow to care for his ailing father and support his family. Today, while his discipleship and vocal training under Pandit Hrishikesh Gangurde continue actively, Krishan Kuldeep Pandey serves as an Indian classical music lecturer at B.L intermediate college Sitapur roade and directs his own institution. Alongside performing across diverse stages, he actively engages in independent vocal direction, performance, and musical writing, seamlessly connecting dedicated pedagogy with authentic classical artistry.
